An innovative hybrid double degree

EDC Paris Business School has signed a number of partnership agreements with prestigious engineering schools for all its Grande Ecole graduates, including the École Française d'Électronique et d'Informatique (EFREI), the École Supérieure des Techniques Aéronautiques et de Construction Automobile (ESTACA), the École de Biologie Industrielle (EBI), the University of Miami...

To meet the changing expectations of students and recruiters alike, this new joint program aims to train a new generation of international manager-engineers and executives, capable of adapting to a variety of working environments, thus offering an atypical profile in demand by companies.

EDC Paris Business School students will be able to set themselves apart by taking a semester at the School of Industrial Biology. 5th year students in the International Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Innovation & Entrepreneurship specializations of the Grande Ecole Program will have the opportunity to integrate and validate the Specialized Master in Management of Regulatory Affairs for Perfumes and Cosmetics, taught 80% in English, or the Specialized Master in Quality, Risk and CSR Management, Process Validation. This double-diploma will enable them to add the EBI alumni network to their professional contacts.

EBI engineering students in the Design and Development, Quality and Regulations, Processes and Production and Research and Application majors will be able to complete their training by taking a two-semester specialization in the EDC Paris Business School's Grande Ecole program. Capitalizing on the high level of English required for its engineering diploma (TOEIC 820), EBI has chosen two 100% English-speaking specializations from EDC's extensive program, one of which is a sandwich course. Future engineer-managers can choose between International Business, or Data Science and Business Analysis.

This double degree will be validated by a 6-month end-of-studies internship, co-supervised by teacher-researchers from both schools.

As entrepreneurship is a strong point for both schools, students will also benefit from cross-disciplinary courses. In addition, management courses will be given to EBI students, and EDC Paris Business School students will be able to take courses in cosmetics.

  • Real-life consulting assignments from 1st to 4th year of the Grande Ecole program

  • More than 2/3 of a year's intake complete their specialization (Master's cycle) on a sandwich course

  • Annual seminars for personal development and support in building the professional project of "Grande Ecole" students

  • A minimum of 16 months of internships in companies in France and abroad

  • More than 50% of a year's intake complete their specialization (Master's cycle) on a sandwich course

  • Strong involvement in the key bodies of the French entrepreneurial ecosystem (Pépite, CRA...).

A scheme accessible from 1st year

The Student-Entrepreneur Programme is aimed at students who wish to set up or take over a business, while reconciling academic obligations with entrepreneurial requirements. The student-entrepreneur will be coached by a teacher-researcher specializing in entrepreneurship, and mentored by an EDC Paris Business School* graduate entrepreneur. Selected students have access to the EDCube incubator.

*The project is subject to a favorable decision by a jury made up of entrepreneurs and representatives of support services.

Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship

Since November 2021, EDC Paris Business School has become a member of the "Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship" program, a group of higher education institutions focused on mobilizing the resources needed to develop the teaching of entrepreneurial skills.

This network aims to promote knowledge sharing and support entrepreneurship through the creation of support programs.

Throughout their academic career, students are assessed in a variety of ways :

  • Examination procedures are adapted to the teaching cycle: in the 1st cycle, examinations (MCQs, knowledge tests, application exercises) are mainly designed to check knowledge acquisition. Thereafter, students are assessed mainly through case studies, role-plays and project presentations.

  • A report is written for each internship to ensure that skills have been acquired.

  • In 5th year, students write a final dissertation (MFE) and defend it before a jury of two professors. Validation of the MFE is one of the requirements for graduation.

More generally, we use the following six levels of cognitive skills to evaluate our students:

  • Understand: quizzes, matching exercises, etc.

  • Recognize/Know: quizzes, matching exercises, etc.

  • Apply: (practical exercises, simulations, etc.)

  • Analyze: (problem solving, case studies, etc.)

  • Evaluate: (case studies, critiques, etc.)

  • Create: (projects, etc.)

Teachers award bonus points for active participation in class or remotely when students contribute to a discussion forum.

BRIDGES AND EQUIVALENCES

There are no bridges or equivalences: enrolment in the program requires you to complete all modules. If a block is not validated after retaking, the student must repeat the year and does not retain the benefit of potentially validated blocks.

ONWARD JOURNEY

If you want to continue your studies after the Grande École program, it's possible!

For example, subject to the necessary prerequisites, you can decide to do a PhD or a Master Of Science in another specialty of your choice.

SE PROFESSIONNALISER GRÂCE AU PROGRAMME GRANDE ÉCOLE

  • An internship is halfway between a conventional internship and a sandwich course.
It generally lasts longer than a simple internship (6 to 10 months), and the student's status is not the same as for a sandwich course. The alternating internship must follow the training schedule, i.e. 3 weeks company / 1 week training. The host company may cover all, part or none of the student's training costs, as negotiated between the student and the company.. L’école peut tout à fait intervenir en support. In all cases, if the internship lasts longer than 2 months, the student is paid at least the legal minimum. The advantage of a work-study program is that it immerses students in the professional world, enabling them to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.

  • The apprenticeship contract is a written employment contract of limited duration or indefinite duration between an employee and an employer.
It enables the apprentice to follow a sandwich course in a company under the responsibility of an apprentice master and in an apprentice training center (CFA) for 6 months to 3 years. The apprenticeship contract must follow the training schedule, i.e. 3 weeks company / 1 week training. Since January 1, 2020, the cost of apprenticeship training has been covered by skills operators (OPCO), at a level set by the professional branches according to the field of activity of the qualification or diploma concerned (or, failing that, by decree, particularly when the training has never been provided as an apprenticeship). For contracts lasting more than one year, reimbursement is granted for each year of the contract. In the case of the last year of the contract, payment is made on a prorata temporis basis. Where the duration of the contract is less than one year, the amount is calculated on a prorata temporis basis according to the level of the annual payment. In the event of early termination of the apprenticeship contract, payment is made prorata temporis for the duration of the apprenticeship contract. Any month begun is due. This formula enables you to gain unique, long-term experience as a genuine company employee (1 week at school - 3 weeks on the job). What's more, it guarantees a salary of between 27% and 100% of the minimum wage, depending on age and level of study. The advantage of an apprenticeship contract is that it combines theoretical training at school with practical experience on the job. It enables students to obtain a qualified diploma at the end of their studies.

  • A genuine gas pedal of access to employment, the DIVE Skills Passport is a tool that lists and validates skills in a given situation (during internships or work-study training). In this way, it enhances the value of both academic and practical knowledge acquired throughout a student's career. The DIVE Skills Passport enables each student on a work placement to self-assess his or her skills, in addition to their tutor's grading, so that they can take responsibility for their own learning and highlight their own achievements. The DIVE Skills Passport enables employers to better identify all the skills (hard and soft skills) developed in the field, which are likely to perfectly meet their expectations and needs.
